FAQs

This Hybernite Superday Heated Hose Tubing works with Löwenstein Prisma CPAP machines and is universal, making it suitable for most CPAP machines that do not have a built-in heated tubing facility.

The heated hose is supplied with both UK and EU power plugs, making it convenient for use at home or when travelling between the UK and EU without requiring a separate plug adapter.

The Hybernite Superday Heated Breathing Tube Rainout Control System by Plastiflex is suitable for Löwenstein CPAP machines, Drive DeVilbiss devices and most CPAP machines or non-invasive ventilators that do not have a specific heated hose system built into the machine for use with a humidifier.

What is 'rainout' and what does this Hybernite Heated Hose achieve?

  1. Warmer, more comfortable airflow
A heated hose can help warm the air delivered from a CPAP or non-invasive ventilator, particularly when the bedroom is cold. When used with a compatible CPAP humidifier, the heated tubing helps maintain a more comfortable temperature as air travels towards the mask.
  2. Helps reduce rainout
Rainout occurs when humidified air cools inside the CPAP tubing, causing condensation that can collect in the hose and potentially reach the mask. A heated hose helps maintain the temperature of the humidified air and can help reduce condensation.

Please note: A hose cover must not be used with this Hybernite Heated Hose due to the risk of overheating.

  1. Universal heated hose option
Some CPAP manufacturers provide dedicated heated tubing for their machines. The Hybernite Heated Hose provides a separately powered alternative for compatible machines that do not have built-in heated tubing functionality.

The hose uses its own power supply, which is why UK and EU power plugs are included.

Please note: The Hybernite Heated Hose is not compatible with Fisher & Paykel machines.

  1. Suitable for colder environments
Heated hoses can be particularly useful in colder bedrooms or climates. Some users may find heated tubing too warm, so the hose may be more suitable for use during colder months.

The Hybernite tubing contains copper heating wires within the tube wall, designed to provide consistent heating along the length of the hose and help maintain the temperature of humidified air between the CPAP machine, humidifier and mask.

Box Contents

  • 1 × Hybernite 6 ft Heated Hose
  • 19mm tube diameter with 22mm cuffs
  • 1 × 12V Power Supply
  • 1 × UK 3-pin Plug
  • 1 × EU 2-pin Plug

Compatibility

The Hybernite Heated Hose can be used with most machines that accept a 19mm standard tube and have a humidifier attached. Some manufacturers may describe these connections as 22mm because the hose cuffs are 22mm, while the actual tube diameter is approximately 19mm.

Compatible Löwenstein machines include:

  • Prisma 20C / 20A
  • Prisma 25S
  • Prisma 25S-C
  • Prisma 25ST

For Prisma SmartMax and SoftMax, the external power supply is required.

Important Compatibility Notes

The Hybernite Heated Hose cannot be used with machines that require smaller 15mm or 12mm slimline tubing.

It is also not compatible with older System One REMstar CPAP devices running software versions earlier than 1.24. The software version is displayed when the machine is switched on.

Important

The warranty periods shown in the table above are our general warranty periods and apply only where a different warranty period has not been specified on the individual product page.

If the product page states a different warranty period — whether shorter or longer — the warranty stated on the product page will apply, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

For example, if a particular CPAP machine is advertised with a 3-year warranty, that 3-year warranty will apply instead of the general 2-year period shown above.

Similarly, certain accessories, batteries or specialist products may have different warranty periods. Where this is the case, the applicable warranty will be clearly stated on the relevant product page.

Please check the warranty information in the product description before purchasing. If no specific warranty is shown, the general warranty periods in the table above will apply.

All warranty cover is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not exclude, restrict or replace those rights.
