FAQs

The ResMed AirTouch N20 is the AirFit N20 with one change: instead of a silicone cushion it uses an UltraSoft memory foam cushion. If silicone leaves red marks on your face or irritates your skin, this is the nasal mask designed to fix it.

The frame, headgear, elbow and clips are shared with the AirFit N20 and the parts interchange freely between the two.

Why memory foam instead of silicone

A silicone cushion seals by pressing a thin edge against your face, which concentrates pressure along a narrow line. That is where red marks and soreness come from.

Memory foam spreads the contact over a wider, softer area. It warms to your skin and moulds to the shape of your face, so the seal comes from conformity rather than force — a much better option for sensitive or reactive skin.

Key features

  • UltraSoft memory foam cushion – moulds to your face rather than pressing against it.
  • Soft padded frame – integrated padding where the frame meets your skin.
  • Magnetic headgear clips – one-handed fitting, even in the dark.
  • Quick-release elbow – disconnect without removing the mask.
  • Open field of vision – low-profile frame sitting below the eyes.
  • Four-point headgear adjustment – holds its setting.
  • Fully modular – interchangeable with AirFit N20 components.
  • Latex free.

AirTouch N20 or AirFit N20?

  AirTouch N20 AirFit N20
Cushion material UltraSoft memory foam InfinitySeal silicone
Best for Sensitive skin, red marks Most users
Cleaning Wipe clean only — never wash Wash daily in warm soapy water
Cushion replacement About every month Every 1–3 months
Frame, headgear, elbow, clips Identical and interchangeable

If you already own an AirFit N20, you can buy just the AirTouch memory foam cushion and fit it to your existing frame — you do not need this whole mask.

Important: how to care for a memory foam cushion

  • Never submerge or wash the cushion in water. Water destroys the foam structure and the seal will not recover.
  • Wipe it clean with a CPAP mask wipe or damp cloth after each use, and let it air dry fully.
  • The frame, headgear and elbow can be washed normally.
  • Replace the cushion approximately every month — memory foam has a shorter service life than silicone by design.

Choosing your size

Sized by cushion only — the frame and headgear are one size. Medium fits most adults. Sizing matches the AirFit N20 exactly, so if you know your size in that mask, order the same here.

Important: this mask contains magnets

The AirTouch N20 uses magnetic headgear clips. ResMed advises that masks with magnets are contraindicated for people with certain implants — including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, neurostimulators, shunts, insulin pumps, aneurysm clips, stents, metallic ocular implants and metallic splinters in the eye — and for people in close physical contact with someone who has one.

If you need a magnet-free nasal mask, the AirFit N30i uses conventional clips and contains no magnets. Please speak to your doctor if you are unsure whether the warning applies to you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wash the AirTouch N20 cushion?

No. The memory foam cushion must be wipe-cleaned only — washing or submerging it destroys the foam. The frame, headgear and elbow can be washed as normal.

How often should I replace the cushion?

Approximately every month. That is shorter than silicone and expected rather than a fault.

Can I use an AirTouch cushion on my AirFit N20 frame?

Yes. The two masks share the same frame, headgear, elbow and clips, so cushions swap freely between them.

Which size should I order?

Medium fits most adults, and sizing matches the AirFit N20 exactly.

Will it work with my CPAP machine?

Yes. It uses a standard mask connection and works with ResMed, Philips, Löwenstein and other CPAP and bilevel devices. Set your machine's mask type to "Nasal".

Please read the current ResMed AirTouch N20 user guide, including contraindications, warnings and precautions, before using this mask.

If the product page states a different warranty period — whether shorter or longer — the warranty stated on the product page will apply, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

For example, if a particular CPAP machine is advertised with a 3-year warranty, that 3-year warranty will apply instead of the general 2-year period shown above.

Similarly, certain accessories, batteries or specialist products may have different warranty periods. Where this is the case, the applicable warranty will be clearly stated on the relevant product page.

Please check the warranty information in the product description before purchasing. If no specific warranty is shown, the general warranty periods in the table above will apply.

All warranty cover is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not exclude, restrict or replace those rights.

The memory foam is a revelation. It conforms perfectly to the shape of my nose, eliminating all pressure points and creating a fantastic seal without overtightening the straps.

It is the best item available. I have tried many other brands and nothing else is comparable . Don't try to save a few dollars when it comes to your health. This is very comfortable and the nose pillow keeps a good seal. I highly recommend this product.

This foam cushion is incredibly soft and comfortable. It feels like a luxury upgrade for my CPAP therapy.

I was skeptical, but now I'm converted. The seal is just as good, if not better, and the softness is next level. Makes wearing my mask a pleasure.
