AirFit F20 or AirTouch F20? The cushion is the only difference

These two masks share the same frame, headgear, elbow and clips — parts are fully interchangeable. What changes is the cushion:

If silicone leaves marks on your face or irritates your skin, the AirTouch F20 memory foam cushion fits your existing F20 frame — you don't need a new mask.

AirFit F20 vs F40 vs F30i

All three are full face masks. The F20 covers the bridge of the nose; the other two sit under it.

The F20 remains the safest first choice if you're new to CPAP or don't know your face shape well — it has the broadest fit range of the three.

Choosing your AirFit F20 size

The F20 is sized by cushion only — the frame and headgear are one size. Medium fits the majority of adults. Please don't assume your size from a different mask model; the F20 seals differently from an under-the-nose mask.

Technical details

Important: this mask contains magnets

The AirFit F20 uses magnetic headgear clips. ResMed advises that masks with magnets are contraindicated for people with certain implants — including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, neurostimulators, shunts, insulin pumps, aneurysm clips, stents, metallic ocular implants and metallic splinters in the eye — and for people in close physical contact with someone who has one.

Replacement parts

Every part of the AirFit F20 is available separately, so a worn cushion doesn't mean a new mask. We stock the InfinitySeal cushion, AirTouch memory foam cushion, headgear, frame, QuietAir elbow and magnetic clips.

As a guide: replace the cushion every one to three months, the headgear every three to six months, and the complete mask every nine to twelve months.

Frequently asked questions

Which size AirFit F20 should I order?

Medium fits most adults. Use the printable sizing guide in the Downloads section rather than guessing from a previous mask — the F20 sizes differently from under-the-nose masks like the F30i and F40.

Why would I need a full face mask rather than a nasal mask?

A full face mask is usually the right choice if you breathe through your mouth during sleep, if your nose is frequently blocked, or if you're on a higher pressure that causes mouth leak with a nasal mask.

When should I replace the cushion?

Every one to three months. Facial oils gradually break down the silicone, which causes leaks and discomfort long before the cushion looks worn.

How do I clean the AirFit F20?

Wash the cushion daily in warm water with a mild liquid soap, and the headgear and frame weekly. Rinse thoroughly and air dry away from direct sunlight. Don't use bleach, alcohol, or scented or antibacterial cleaners.

Will the AirFit F20 work with my CPAP machine?

Yes. It uses a standard mask connection and works with ResMed, Philips, Löwenstein and other CPAP and bilevel devices. Set your machine's mask type to "Full Face". For the AirMini, you'll also need the AirMini F20 setup pack.

Can I use the AirFit F20 with a beard?

It can work, but facial hair makes a reliable seal harder on any mask. Keeping the beard trimmed short where the cushion sits helps. Some users with beards get on better with an under-the-nose mask such as the AirFit F40.
