The ResMed AirFit N30 is a minimalist nasal cradle mask: a small cushion that curves under the nose, held by soft elastic headgear that slips straight over your head. There are no prongs inside the nostrils, no forehead support and nothing across the bridge of your nose.
This is the FitPack, supplied with two colour-coded cushion sizes — a small (red) and a medium (blue) — so first-time users can find their fit without guessing.
Not nasal pillows — a nasal cradle
Nasal pillow masks insert soft tips into the nostrils. The AirFit N30 does not. Its cushion curves underneath the nose and seals against the base of the nostrils, using a septum bridge membrane to hold the seal without anything entering the nose.
That makes it a good option for people who like the minimal feel of nasal pillows but find them uncomfortable inside the nostrils.

Prefer minimal facial coverage. The design provides far less contact with the face than other mask types.
Experience claustrophobia. Larger masks covering the nose and mouth can feel restrictive. This design is much less intrusive.
Breathe through the nose. Air is delivered through the nostrils, so it suits nose breathers rather than mouth breathers.
Have facial hair. Because the seal sits at the base of the nose rather than across the face, a beard or moustache does not interfere with it.
Sleep on their side. The small profile causes less interference against the pillow than a larger mask.
Comfort and effectiveness vary from person to person. Factors such as your anatomy, your pressure and the severity of your sleep apnoea all matter — if you are unsure, speak to a healthcare professional or sleep specialist about which mask suits your needs.
Choosing your cushion size
Both sizes are supplied in this FitPack, so you can try them. The cushion should span the base of your nose without spilling out at the sides or pinching inward. Most people start with the medium.
A small-wide cushion is also made for this mask and is available separately if neither size in the pack fits well.

Cleaning your AirFit N30
We recommend hand-washing the cushion after each use in a bowl of warm water with a mild liquid detergent. All other components should be hand-washed the same way at least weekly. Rinse thoroughly and air dry away from direct sunlight.
Replace the cushion every one to three months and the headgear every three to six months.
Frequently asked questions
Does anything go inside my nose?
No. The cushion cradles underneath the nose and seals at the base of the nostrils. Nothing is inserted — that is a nasal pillow mask, such as the AirFit P10.
Which cushion size should I use?
Both small and medium are supplied in this pack. Start with the medium and move down if it feels too wide at the base of the nose.
Can I use it with a beard?
Yes. This is one of the mask's advantages — the seal is at the base of the nose, so facial hair does not break it.
Can I use it if I breathe through my mouth?
Air will escape through the mouth and reduce the effectiveness of therapy. A chin strap helps with mild mouth leak; if it persists, a full face mask is the better choice.
Does the AirFit N30 contain magnets?
No. The headgear is elastic and slips on over the head, with no magnetic components.
Will it work with my CPAP machine?
Yes. It uses a standard mask connection and works with ResMed, Philips, Löwenstein and other CPAP and bilevel devices. Set your machine's mask type to "Nasal".
