The ResMed AirFit N30i is a nasal cradle mask with the tube connected at the top of your head instead of in front of your face. The cushion sits under your nose rather than over it, so there is nothing across the bridge of your nose and nothing in your line of sight.
It is the mask most often chosen by people who move around at night — the hose follows your head rather than pulling against the mask.
Key features
- Top-of-the-head tube connection – the hose runs up and over, out of your way and out of sight.
- Nasal cradle cushion – rests under the nose rather than over it, with no nasal bridge contact and nothing inserted into the nostrils.
- QuietAir™ vent – 21 decibels, quieter than a soft whisper.
- SpringFit frame – flexes and adapts to the shape and size of your head.
- Quick-release elbow – get up in the night without taking the mask off.
- Slip-on design – no clips to fasten; it goes on and off in one movement.
- Interchangeable cushions – the frame also takes AirFit P30i nasal pillows and the AirTouch N30i fabric cushion.
- Genuine ResMed product, supplied complete with headgear.
Who the AirFit N30i suits
- Side sleepers and front sleepers — the tube stays clear of the pillow
- Anyone who turns a lot and gets woken by hose drag
- Glasses wearers, and anyone who reads or watches television in bed
- People who find nasal pillows uncomfortable inside the nostrils
- Anyone who gets sore or marked across the bridge of the nose
It is a nasal mask, so it suits you if you breathe through your nose during sleep. If your mouth falls open at night, either add a chin strap or consider a full face mask such as the AirFit F30i, which uses the same top-of-head design.
Sizing the AirFit N30i
The N30i is sized by frame and cushion separately, and the two are independent of each other. This is the part people most often get wrong.
Sizing the frame
The frame size is set by the distance from the bridge of your nose to the top of your head — not by the size of your nose. Standard suits most adults; Small suits shorter faces and smaller head sizes. If a standard frame sits too far back on your crown, or the cushion pulls upward away from your nose, you need the small frame.
Sizing the cushion
The cushion size is set by the width of your nose where the cradle sits underneath it. It should span the base of the nose without spilling out at the sides or pinching inward. Medium fits most adults.
Because the two are independent, a Small frame with a Medium cushion is a perfectly normal combination. We stock:
- Small cushion with Small frame
- Medium cushion with Standard frame – the most commonly ordered combination
If you would rather try two cushion sizes before committing, the AirFit N30i FitPack includes both Small and Medium cushions with the frame.
AirFit N30i, AirTouch N30i or AirFit P30i?
All three share the same frame platform and top-of-head tubing, and the cushions interchange. Only the part touching your face changes:
| AirFit N30i | AirTouch N30i | AirFit P30i | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cushion type | Silicone nasal cradle | Fabric nasal cradle | Nasal pillows |
| Sits | Under the nose | Under the nose | At the nostrils |
| Best for | Most users | Sensitive skin, red marks | Minimal contact |
You can buy any of the three and switch cushion style later without replacing the frame or headgear.

Cushions, headgear, frames and elbows are all available separately. As a general guide, replace the cushion every one to three months and the headgear every three to six months — facial oils soften the silicone and cause leaks well before the cushion looks worn.
Frequently asked questions
Does the AirFit N30i go inside my nose?
No. The cushion cradles underneath the nose and seals against the base of the nostrils. Nothing is inserted into the nose — that is the AirFit P30i, which uses nasal pillows.
Which frame size should I order?
Standard fits most adults. Choose Small if you have a shorter face or smaller head — the frame size depends on the distance from your nose to the top of your head, not on the size of your nose.
Can I mix a small frame with a medium cushion?
Yes, and it is common. The frame is sized to your head and the cushion to your nose, so the combinations are genuinely independent.
Does the AirFit N30i have magnetic clips?
No. The N30i uses a slip-on headgear design with conventional clips, so there are no magnets in the mask.
Can I use P30i nasal pillows with this frame?
Yes. The AirFit P30i nasal pillow cushion and the AirTouch N30i fabric cushion both fit the N30i frame, so you can change cushion style without buying a new mask.
Will it work with my CPAP machine?
Yes. It uses a standard mask connection and works with ResMed, Philips, Löwenstein and other CPAP and bilevel devices. Set your machine's mask type to "Nasal".
How do I clean it?
Wash the cushion daily in warm water with a mild liquid soap, and the headgear and frame weekly. Rinse thoroughly and air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not use bleach, alcohol, or scented or antibacterial cleaners.

Important
The warranty periods shown in the table above are our general warranty periods and apply only where a different warranty period has not been specified on the individual product page.
If the product page states a different warranty period — whether shorter or longer — the warranty stated on the product page will apply, subject to your statutory consumer rights.
For example, if a particular CPAP machine is advertised with a 3-year warranty, that 3-year warranty will apply instead of the general 2-year period shown above.
Similarly, certain accessories, batteries or specialist products may have different warranty periods. Where this is the case, the applicable warranty will be clearly stated on the relevant product page.
Please check the warranty information in the product description before purchasing. If no specific warranty is shown, the general warranty periods in the table above will apply.
All warranty cover is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not exclude, restrict or replace those rights.
