FAQs

The ResMed Mirage Quattro is a traditional full face CPAP mask with adjustable forehead support — and it handles pressures other masks cannot. Rated to 40 cmH₂O, it is the highest-pressure mask in our range, which makes it a common choice for people on bilevel therapy or at the upper end of CPAP pressures.

It is also one of the most adjustable masks ResMed has made. The MicroFit dial gives 24 forehead support positions, so the mask's angle against your face can be tuned precisely rather than just tightened.

Why people choose the Mirage Quattro

  • Pressures up to 40 cmH₂O – suitable for high CPAP pressures and bilevel therapy where most masks are rated only to 30.
  • MicroFit dial with 24 positions – adjusts the forehead support in fine increments to change how the cushion meets your face.
  • Mirage dual-wall cushion with Spring Air technology – a soft outer wall seals against the skin while an inner wall holds the shape under pressure.
  • Forehead support – spreads the load across the forehead rather than concentrating it on the nose bridge, which helps at higher pressures.
  • Set-and-forget headgear – once adjusted, it keeps its settings each time you put the mask on.
  • Magnet free – no magnetic components anywhere in the mask.
  • Genuine ResMed product, supplied complete with headgear.

Why a forehead-supported mask at high pressure

Modern compact masks like the AirFit F20 and F40 remove the forehead support to reduce bulk, and at typical pressures that works well. At higher pressures the physics change: more force pushes the mask away from the face, and without a forehead support that force is carried entirely by the cushion and headgear straps.

The Mirage Quattro's forehead arm braces the mask against your forehead, so the cushion can seal without the straps being pulled uncomfortably tight. If you have been chasing leaks on a compact mask at a high pressure, this is usually the reason.

Who the Mirage Quattro suits

  • Anyone on pressures above 30 cmH₂O, where most masks are not rated
  • Bilevel and BiPAP users
  • People who cannot get a compact full face mask to seal without overtightening
  • Anyone who prefers a traditional forehead-supported design
  • Long-term users who have been fitted with the Mirage Quattro previously and want the same mask

If you are on a typical CPAP pressure and want something smaller and lighter, the AirFit F20 or AirFit F40 will suit you better. The Mirage Quattro is the specialist choice, not the default one.

Choosing your size

The Mirage Quattro is sized by cushion — Small, Medium and Large — with one headgear size. Medium fits most adults.

Because the cushion covers the nose and mouth and the forehead support carries part of the fit, sizing does not translate directly from a compact under-the-nose mask. If you are moving from an AirFit F30i or F40, don't assume the same size. Contact us if you are unsure.

Replacement parts

Mirage Quattro cushions and headgear are available separately. As a general guide, replace the cushion every one to three months and the headgear every three to six months — at higher pressures cushions tend to wear faster, because the seal is working harder.

Frequently asked questions

What pressure can the Mirage Quattro handle?

Up to 40 cmH₂O. Most modern compact full face masks are rated to 30, so if you are prescribed a pressure above that, your choice of mask is limited and this is one of the few that qualifies.

Does the Mirage Quattro contain magnets?

No. There are no magnetic components in this mask, so it is suitable if magnetic clips are contraindicated for you.

Can I use it with a BiPAP or bilevel machine?

Yes. It uses a standard mask connection and its pressure rating covers bilevel therapy.

What does the MicroFit dial do?

It moves the forehead support through 24 positions, changing the angle at which the cushion meets your face. Small adjustments here often fix a leak that no amount of strap tightening will.

Which size should I order?

Medium fits most adults. Sizing does not carry across from compact under-the-nose masks, so if you are switching from an F30i or F40, contact us rather than ordering the same size.

Is the cushion memory foam?

No. It is a dual-wall silicone cushion using Spring Air technology — a soft outer wall that seals and a firmer inner wall that holds its shape under pressure.

Please read the current ResMed Mirage Quattro user guide, including contraindications, warnings and precautions, before using this mask.

The warranty periods shown in the table above are our general warranty periods and apply only where a different warranty period has not been specified on the individual product page.

If the product page states a different warranty period — whether shorter or longer — the warranty stated on the product page will apply, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

For example, if a particular CPAP machine is advertised with a 3-year warranty, that 3-year warranty will apply instead of the general 2-year period shown above.

Similarly, certain accessories, batteries or specialist products may have different warranty periods. Where this is the case, the applicable warranty will be clearly stated on the relevant product page.

Please check the warranty information in the product description before purchasing. If no specific warranty is shown, the general warranty periods in the table above will apply.

All warranty cover is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not exclude, restrict or replace those rights.

At higher pressures more force pushes the mask away from your face. Without a forehead support, that force is carried entirely by the cushion and the headgear straps. The Mirage Quattro's forehead arm braces the mask against your forehead, so the cushion can seal without the straps being pulled uncomfortably tight.

It suits anyone on pressures above 30 cmH2O, bilevel and BiPAP users, people who cannot get a compact full face mask to seal without overtightening, and anyone who prefers a traditional forehead-supported design. It is also a good fit for long-term users who have used the Mirage Quattro before and want the same mask.

If you are on a typical CPAP pressure and want something smaller and lighter, the AirFit F20 or AirFit F40 will usually suit you better.

The Mirage Quattro mask frame with forehead support, a Mirage dual-wall cushion in the size you select, headgear, an elbow and swivel, and a user guide.

As a general guide, replace the cushion every one to three months and the headgear every three to six months. At higher pressures cushions tend to wear faster because the seal is working harder. Cushions and headgear are available separately, so you do not need a new mask.
